Affordable, accessible and respectful maternity care.

Our mission is to provide affordable, accessible maternity care for the women of Haiti. We aim to  assist women throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum (we are able to provide prenatal and postpartum care with our current facilities). We promote the midwives model of care (see here for more information).

We also provide sexual education. We believe this is desperately needed in Haiti, which has the highest birth rate, 22.83 births/1,000 population (2014 est.), and the highest maternal mortality rate, (359 deaths/100,000 live births (2015 est.), in the western hemisphere. Grace Community Birth Center envisions a country where health care is available for all pregnant women. We would like to see the midwives model of care, which values support for women and their families above all else, become the primary option for mothers and babies in Haiti. We believe “every woman deserves access to the high quality, safe, personalized, attentive, affordable, and respectful care of a midwife.”
