We are starting to build the Birth Center

Original design from Fall 2019

Happy New Year!

We have some very exciting news to share! Despite the ongoing dire situation in Haiti we are moving forward with the building. It could be finished by this summer!

The project has hired a contractor and construction is slated to begin on the birth center the end of February! The board decided not to continue with The Building Goodness Foundation as they are not sending volunteers to Haiti for the foreseeable future and could not give us a definite timeframe. They did connect us with a private contractor who worked in Haiti for a few years with USAID and is doing work in northern Haiti.

Ryan Ely with RWE Builds is from the USA with extensive experience in Haiti. All of his workers are Haitian. He is committed to using rammed earth construction, solar power, and paying his workers a fair wage. We are excited to work with him.

On behalf of Ninotte and the board we send our deepest gratitude to all of you for believing in this project and giving of your resources however you've been able.

The cost estimate to complete the project is $225,000. We currently have in the building fund $144,972.78 which means we need $80,027.22 to complete the building and furnish it.

We need your help to do this. Please share the message far and wide!

Ninotte's courage, resilience, and hope continue to astound us. This quote embodies what she is doing:
